Hello everyone, There is a-lot of misconceptions when discussing the power levels of both Jiren and Broly.
I watched the film closely and have watched the entire Tournament of power arc twice. So, I have some good knowledge of both the strengths and weaknesses of both characters.
Broly in super is stronger than the tournament of power Jiren, but not by much.
We have to scale Goku and Vegeta.
If we high ball, Goku in blue as of right now should be as strong as Super Saiyan blue Kaioken Goku at the last time he used it. Goku was beating Ikaru Broly in this form before he went super saiyan.
So arguably, this is just speculation so bare with me, movie blue Goku should be almost as powerful as his ssbkk20 counterpart, Vegeta a bit less so, Goku is stronger than Vegeta in the film. The director already stated so and it was obvious in the way they fought Broly who was stronger.
Broly Film power levels:
SSBGoku <= SSBkk20 Goku
SSB Vegeta < SSBE Vegeta (not by much)
SSBGoku > Ikaru Broly
SS Broly > SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta
Full power ss Broly is stronger than Jiren based on scaling, but some could argue otherwise. Current Jiren is stronger. See the whole notion of “each villain gets stronger” is based on the past, Broly is stronger than the last time we saw Jiren. Make no mistake, Jiren is training and has improved his strength just as Goku and Vegeta had.
So lets phrase the question how would SS Broly fare against SSBKK20 Goku and SSBE Vegeta in the movie? Not very well; in fact, I think they would have probably won in those forms.
UI Goku would not have any trouble whatsoever with Broly.
There is also the problem that some have said that the movie is based on the manga continuation rather than the anime, I like to think its both.
Jiren right now should be stronger than Broly and would have no problem dispatching him.
Being stronger, however, doesn’t mean Broly would beat TOP Jiren, Jiren didn’t just lose because Goku UI got stronger, Goku UI’s speed was insane to defend against and I highly doubt Broly is faster than Jiren. There is just no speed feats to support it.
There is also this but I wouldn’t put too much salt into it
Broly in SS punched Frieza for an hour and Frieza was only slightly wounded, Jiren fought him for a few seconds and then knocked him out of Gold form, so my point is, Jiren is probably stronger than Broly right now. I know Frieza was stronger in the film, but if you were to think about it, it kinda makes sense that Jiren would be stronger.
